The mobile industry has expanded over the last 40 years and it has continuously developed it's technology to please it's consumers. 
The first animated pixal game on a mobile was snake.

The developments continued to evolve after the introduction of colour screen technology. This link shows the development of mobiles over the last 40 years and how the industry constantly adapted and supplied new technology into their phones.

When researching I found that the first colour screen phone was in fact made by company Sony Ericsson and was the T68i.
After this the mobile industry flourished and into the 21st century, big brand Apple designed and created the iPhone. With this brought their infamous idea of 'applications', which gave another outlet to designers and animators. 

As explained briefly in Gaming, augmented reality games are a new technological advance that has stormed the smaller hand held consoles. With this, it has even reached new heights within mobile phones, and the video link below shows just how developed the gaming and mobile industry has become with the use of 3D animated technology.
